FINE ARTS

Art instructor, Cindy Lewis, holds a BA in Art Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. She began teaching the visual arts program at FCA in 2012. The ultimate goal of our art program is to teach the students how to express themselves in a uniquely creative way which can be used to bring glory to God. Students will use crayons, clay, pencils, markers, pastels, charcoal and paints to create various styles of art ranging from representational, nonrepresentational, to abstract. The basic Elements of Art (shape, line, space, texture, color, and value) are introduced in the elementary classes. Middle School and High School students will further explore the Elements of Art while implementing the Art Principles (movement, balance, proportion, rhythm, variety, emphasis, and unity) in their artwork. Art History will be intertwined into many of the lessons so students can learn about famous artists and their artwork.
