FCA is offering a summer math camp for all students who will be in grades 9-12 during the next school year. Many FCA students have taken part in this summer program, focusing on building skills in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and even C++ Computer Programming.
FCA offers Dual Enrollment Mathematics Courses. These courses allow students to receive credit both at the high school level and the college level simultaneously. Students who enter into virtually any major in college are required to take the College Algebra and College Trigonometry sequence, both of which are offered via Dual Enrollment at FCA in partnership with Louisiana State University. To date, this partnership has awarded 54 hours of college credit in these two courses with an average final grade of an “A” both at the high school and college level. This success rate is not possible without a strong foundation in mathematics upon which to build. Students who enter college majoring in anything related to science or engineering will be expected to take Calculus their first year. Going forward, FCA will be offering Calculus Dual Enrollment in partnership with LSU and Physics Dual Enrollment in partnership with BRCC.
